Camino frances
Hi, I am due to fly to Bilbao next week and make my way to SJPP to start the camino Frances. I hope to start walking on 17th March, just wondering about weather conditions over the pyrenees and if passable on the firat leg to roncevalles ? Is there c somewhere I can check this? I am thinking would I be better to start from roncevalles but would really like to start in SJPP. Thanks Claire

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

The Camino over the Pyrenees (Route Napoleon) is closed at least until April 1st. You have to walk from SJpdP to Roncesvalles via Valcarlos.

Hi Claire. From what I just looked at on the weather channel, it looks like, rain, rain, and more rain for SJPP for the next 10 days. The thing is that in the mountains, weather can change without much notice. With the fairly warm temperatures there right now, I would guess snow levels may be pretty low. You’ll be crossing via the Valcarlos Route. I’d suggest that you pack some good rain gear which may get used a number of times before reaching SdC.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

As you be aware by now the mountain pass will be closed over the pyrenees so like me on the 26th you have to take the other route via valcarlos bit I been told that is a good place to stop for a comfort break .
Buen Camino

Hello Claire, due to arrive SJPP on 16th and start on 17th so might see you. Weather looks a bit showery but not too bad and a bit warmer than UK.

Hi Rob, possibly as I land in SSJPP too on the 16th all going to plan. If I get there early I might start to walk to valcarlos the same day but I am waiting to see how I feel first! Might be too tired from all the travelling to attempt it. Its rainy here in Ireland too the last few days so but glad to know it's a bit warmer though. Buen camino.

I'm coming down from Biarritz and it's my first Camino so I'll want to have a good look around SJPP but I'm sure we'll meet somewhere. Buen Camino.

I am coming from Bilbao so there's a bit of travel to get to SJPP so. My first time there too. We will most probably bump into each other along route. Safe travels
