I like to mail my mom, her roommates and care givers (in assisted living home) some goodies/treats/cookies/candies from Le Puy. Any suggestions what I should get?

Le Puy always makes me think of green lentils but I'm guessing this is not what you had in mind!

The lentils are incredible but cannot be considered goodies or a treat if there are no cooks who know what to do with them in Kiwiland-they require a very gentle hand and the right seasoning. I loved French raisins, the big plump juicy ones – however and this is a big however – take them in moderation and with great wisdom, they have an effect on the digestive system similar to prunes and are very effective! Look for truffle oil or Dijon mustard, the Edmond Fallot brand mustard comes in a ceramic jar and both can be bubble wrapped and boxed. Lastly, the French chocolatiers make some fantastic chocolate, not quite Belgian but very good. They are familiar with the packaging and can help select the right box etc. A last warning, air mail from rural areas in France, Le Puy is rural, to my home in Jerusalem has taken anywhere from 6 weeks-2 months to arrive, the French Postal System? Ours here in Israel? A combination? Who knows. Rest assured it will arrive if somewhat tardily.
