Ahhhh... canaveral....is the place that I met my Love. And it was because the albergue on the mountain has closed. Lucky me. and the albergue in canaveral has a speaker which speaks Chinese when You push the main gate.Walked yesterday in terrible rain from Casar de Caceres 21 km to find out, that the Alcantara albergue was not open. ( a private party I suppose) Abt. 20 pilgrims had to walk additional 11 km to Canaveral.
We wandered, how can this kind of albergue be on the guid lists witch is so often closed. The 2’nd time for us.
My sister and I had a sunny great walk from Alcuescar to Aldea del Cano today. Decided to stop early and do laundry since clothes would certainly get dry. We got soaked the day before and expected to stay in Aljucen. Unfortunately, one of the alberques was closed and the other full so we had to go on to Alcuescar. Light rain is expected in the morning.
Hi Happy Mark, we will be arriving in Seville 11 April and starting to walk on 14th, might see you out there, Janette and Alan from AustraliaReally feel for all those now walking with the heavy rain and accomodation problems.
I am planning to start from Seville on the 12 April.
Can you tell give me some idea of the numbers walking each day; I was not anticipating having any accommodation problems however perhaps there are not enough beds along the VDLP??
