Our plan is to walk SJPdP to Roncesvalles in one day. What if we poop out in Orrison and there is no room for us to stay overnight, is it possible to take a taxi back to SJPdP? We would taxi back in the morning to Orrison to start off where we left off.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

I had reservations for Orisson, arrived early, and enjoyed the afternoon on the deck meeting people. During that time I met two persons who wound up sharing a taxi to go to Roncevalles and the cost was 70€ which both considered very costly, but shared, tolerable.

If you walk to Orisson, you can rest a couple of hours there, then WALK back to SJPP. It's not bad going downhill at all!
Then you can get a taxi up next morning - maybe even find some folks to share a taxi and save the cash.

Staying at Orisson needs a *reservation*. If you decide on the spot to stay there , you may ask the lady at the "accueil" (the pilgrim bureau) to make a call for you.
Remember also that Orisson is not open all year round -I believe it is only from April to October.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
You may want to consider planning to stay at Orisson in any event. Orisson is just 8 kms from SJPP, which may be too soon to be pooped out, but if you walk on, you could end up pooped just a short way up the trail.

The walk to Orisson is very steep, but it's not long; the walk from Orisson to Roncesvalles is less steep but much longer!

Orisson offers a fantastic first-night experience - in my opinion one of the best on the trail and a chance to meet a lot of new Camino friends.

What about cab service farther up the road from Orisson? We were thinking of walking to Cruciero, then cabbing back to SJPdP, and back up to Cruciero by cab the next day. Has anyone done that? Any idea of the cab cost to do this?
