) about the busy Holy Week for Santiago and the pilgrim office. Despite some atrocious weather - Storm Nelson included - across Spain which led to the cancellation of many Semana Santa events pilgrim numbers arriving in Santiago remained high. Over 3,000 on Good Friday alone. The running total of Compostelas issued is currently 66% up on the first three months of 2023 but that is probably an anomaly due to the earlier date of Easter this year rather than a cause for panic! Fairly small increases recorded in January and February.
