Hi! My name is Heidi, and I plan to walk the Camino Frances for the first time in June 2015. I have been sort of idly pondering doing this for a few years, but had put it in the "some day" category of things I would like to do. I have had a very difficult two years of one crisis after another. Learning from those experiences, now that things seem to have settled for the most part, I realized that if I leave this for "some day" that day might never come. I had read a bit here and there, and felt strongly drawn toward the Camino. My first step was to talk to my husband, and turn "some day" into a concrete timeframe. My next step was to do a whole bunch of reading--thank you, everyone, on this wonderful forum! Then I slowly began to tell people in my life--the reactions are multitudinous and widely varied. 
Slowly, I am taking little steps to make this dream real. While I have been lurking the boards for several months, becoming a member of this forum seemed some how more real than I was ready for. Is that strange? Today, I felt that my next little step should be to create an account, and say "hello." So, hello. I appreciate so much the wealth of information and encouragement on this forum. I am very glad to be here.
