Wonderful to hear @alexwalker ! Thank you for the update. I enjoyed my visit with the very kind Señor Amancio Yágüez this past September. Then, as in 2012, he had the things I needed. If you don't see it, ask - he will probably have it I keep thinking, for fun I'll make a list sometime of everything that is in this photo. It's just a fraction of what he has in stock in his shop!

Don’t remember the name. It is on the town square.

For all of us who walked the Camino Frances in the "good old days" this gentle man in Castrojeriz was both a poet and a thinker in his special shop.

The name of this kindly gentleman/shopkeeper is Senor Amancio Yagüez.

Wow! He's still going strong, what a blessing. I know exactly where this is, nearly next to the muni albergue. My first visit was in 2013, I don't recall what I purchased but obviously I needed it. In 2016 I was looking for knee support. I couldn't find anything as I walked through so I asked. Low and behold, it was like magic. Appeared a nice durable knee support at a very reasonable price. God Bless this man and his efforts.

No way! I can't believe he's still alive! I had a long chat with him November 2018 while buying a pair of gloves. He told me then that no one in his family wanted to take over the store.

I believe that I first met him years before that but I can't remember when.

May he continue to be healthy and happy.

I adore this man. So kind. I cherish his help. I wrote him a love letter in 2018 when I passed through and his shop was closed.

Amancio is in his early nineties, and his wife Lucía in her 80s. He’s been working there since he was 15, which amounts to about half of the 150 years that the place has been open.

The most amazing part though is that he treats every customer with care and enthusiasm, as if they were his first commission as a young boy.
