The VDLP vs The Norte

Time of past OR future Camino
2006 to date: Over 21 Caminos. See signature line
We have seven more sleeps and have narrowed our walk down to two choices.
We are still unsure which route we will walk, the VDLP or the Norte.

Can anyone who has walked BOTH of these routes give us some thoughts on the following:

1. # of days to walk the route
2. Cost of entire route: lodging and food
3. Are there places to camp along the way?
4. Did anyone do the Plata in late August? Are you still alive?
5. Are there any stretches on the VDLP that you would consider bussing for whatever reason?
6. What are the places you would not want to miss on either?

We have about 82 days and $3,000 - $4,000 American Dollars (not euros) in the budget
We are trying to fit in one of these Caminos PLUS getting to The Peaceable Kingdom at the end of the trip for training.
I'd also like to pick up a few stages we missed on the Frances, if we have time at the end.
We are not racehorses - we tend to walk 15-20 km per day comfortably.

What's the weather like on the Norte during August/September?
Here in Oregon when it is HOT in Portland, the coast is rainy... is that also the case on the Norte?

Thoughts?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
