There's a sand dune on one of the stages of the Camino do faros.

Time of past OR future Camino
Twice walked from St Jean to Estella and once from Sarria to Santiago. Maybe someday I'll find the time to do the entire walk.
I've found the time. Just completed SJPP to Santiago. 25 Aug to 1st Oct, 2016.
And now the Portuguese from Lisbon.
It's quite a climb, one step upwards half a pace slipping back in the fine sand.
Anyone know how high it is?
When you come down from the dune you join a road and can see the lighthouse at Cabo Vilan in the distance.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I am not sure about this but there were more than a couple of paths to the beach that I skipped because they were steep and I didn't want to risk it.

I'm fairly certain you are referring to Monte Branco near Praia do Trece and Cementerio dos Ingleses. They've just re-routed the Camiño to avoid this sand dune to aid conservation efforts as it's a delicate ecosystem.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
On second thought, you might be referring to another area past Monte Branco and Area do Trece. If so, it's Monte da Pedrosa, and according to Wikiloc it's a 60 meter climb in half a kilometer. It's not really a sand dune, though.
