...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
thanks jeff for that real cool map of train prices. and yes Ivar, it would be necessary to check about the AVE included. So for right now, seems overnight in madrid, AVE in the morning and then flight back from Santiago to Madrid.
Ivar, do you have an office as yet in town.??(santiago)

Ivar, do you have an office as yet in town.??(santiago)
No... I am still working partially from home (about 20 minutes out of town by car) and then some days at the university..

... I am looking though... ideally some place close to old town where I could also offer some services for pilgrims... my only problem so far is the rent.. :(

Happy planning and buen camino,
Ivar

Hi Dawn, glad to see you'll soon be on your way again.

Train passes usually work well on long distance travel, but trains in Spain are cheap compared to the rest of Europe, and I don't think a pass is really worthwhile. Point-to-point could be cheaper, and with a pass you will still need to pay a reservation supplement. Before you make a decision, check out prices on the English pages of RENFE and compare to the cost of a pass: http://www.renfe.es/horarios/english/index.html

Cheers ... Trudy

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Don't forget to compare the bus and train timetables - quite often the bus journeys are quicker than taking the train!
