Hi - we will finish Stage 3 of our Camino in Leon in May 24 and will need to get back to Bilbao Airport. Has anyone used a taxi service in this area that they would recommend? Thank you

I imagine a taxi is going to be quite expensive, if indeed any would take you that route. More likely to have better luck with BlaBla car, or bus, or probably train would be my choice.

There is bus service that takes about 4 hours, however the schedule may not suit your plans. Trains run 4 times daily and take an hour longer: some might recommend ride sharing like Bla-Bla Car.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Thank you very much - I have looked into public transport but as we are trying to maximise our walking time, I thought I'd try a quicker means of transport. I haven't heard of BlaBla car though to will google that thank you

Thank you - yes, tricky to fit into our schedule but will google Bla Bla Car as haven't heard of that - thanks again

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I think a car rental might be less expensive than a taxi.

Yowza! That’s about a 350km trip one-way, so 700kms roundtrip. A taxi would cost a fortune since that’s at least a 8 hour day for someone. There’s a 4 hour bus or a 5 hour train or you MIGHT get lucky with BlaBlaCar if you can be flexible.

You could take a bus to Bilbao, stay at hotel ILUNION which is across the street. In the morning you could take the airport shuttle (cash only) to the airport.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
It might also be worth investigating if you can change your flight to a Madrid departure. It's cheap, quick, and easy to get to Madrid from León.
Happy planning and Buen Camino!
