Time of past OR future Camino
May (2013); May (2015)
I am already booked for my train trip. I will be arriving in Pamplona train station on May 10 at 14:40. I checked Express Burricott and didn't find a schedule to cross me over to SJPP from Pamplona.

Any suggestions? Help?

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
When you arrive in Pamplona, you will probably need to spend the night because I believe you are arriving after the bus leaves for Roncesvalles. But you CAN take a taxi to the bus station and see if there is an afternoon bus to Roncesvalles. If you think you will spend the night, you should book lodging now. Try http://www.booking.com to find a room in the old part of town near the bus station.

At the bus station is a HELP window and the person there usually speaks English.
Ask which window to go to in order to buy the ticket to Roncesvalles.

I'm not sure if there is a bus all the way to SJPP - I think you will have to either begin walking in Roncesvalles (probably not a bad idea this year) or share a taxi with other pilgrims to SJPP (probably not difficult to find).

Good luck, and Buen Camino!

Hello Maximillian: I will be walking the Camino in October and, like you, was planning to take the train to Pamplona and then the bus to SJPP. Alas, I just found out that the timetables are not kind to us. The train from Madrid is scheduled to arrive at Pamplona at 14.40, but the bus from Pamplona to SJPP departs at 14.00. I really do not want to waste a day sightseeing around Pamplona, so I open to suggestions about how to get to SJPP on that same day.

Buen Camino!

Alex

Try this link to CONDA S. A. they have service from Pamplona to SJPP beginning June 1st, but Falcon found information stating that they actually begin running this route May 1st. http://www.conda.es/lineas-regulares.php?tipo=1&id=5

I just went to http://www.expressbourricot.com/en/serv ... ation.html and they are offering the service from Pamplona to St. Pied de Port. They charge from 90 € for one passenger to 17 € for 6-8 passengers. This is a shared van service that comes out pretty reasonable if others are going.

And here is another alternative -probably more pricey!: http://www.taxipamplona.com/servicios_en.html

Hope this helps you a bit!

Ultreia!

Huuummm. Roncesvalles is starting to look attractive to me, but I still have to try to start at SJPP. I'm a 59 year old grandmother and I don't plan to go this route the secon time around. We'll see what God has for me in this trip.

Great information!
