Travel from Barcelona to Sarria

Hi, I will be in Barcelona and plan to travel to Sarria for the 100km to Santiago.

I was hoping to find an easier way for this travel from Barcelona to Sarria but seems like no easy way. The buses and trains require a few changes here and there and take many hours. Flight into Santiago does not allow me to catch the one only bus at 11am from Santiago to Sarria on the same day. Does anyone know of any better way that I might have missed?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

You are travelling pretty much across Spain, so I think your expectation to be able to do that in time to catch a 1100 train is rather optimistic.

There are numerous ‘easy’ ways to get there; but none of them are quick - at least not by your standards.

I’d relax and take the very fast train to Madrid then the slightly slower one to Sarria.

Hello from Colorado… I am doing the same Barcelona to Sarria… I am hoping to find other pilgrims on plane to Santiago to share a taxi to Sarria in case we miss the bus? Please let me know how it goes and if you make the 11 bus… best of luck!

Yes, true, one only direct bus to Sarria from Labacolla per day. But 10 a day from the Airport to Lugo and at least 4 a day from Lugo to Sarria ( and 5 trains a day from Lugo to Sarria). You could also try routing via Portomarin or Ourense but the buses from the airport are probably the simplest
.

Thanks. Well noted the train option. Like you said, probably need to relax and take it as part of the pilgrimage 😁👍🏻

Thanks so much. Will explore these other options.
