Travel to Portugal and back from the finish

Looking like myself and a friend will be doing our first Camino and will be completing the Portuguese route. I am by no means a lottery winner so the most modest means of transport will be the one for us. We are looking at going in August and was wondering if anyone had any cheap suggestions of how to get to the start point and then back to the UK from the finish?

It depends where you live, but if in europe, Ryanair seems to be a good, basic, economic way to travel to and from. To Porto and from Santiago. Have a look here for some ideas on prices: http://www.google.com/flights
