Hi there everyone .... I've booked my ticket from Christchurch to London 3 September, and then planning to fly out to Spain on the 5th. (destination Pamplona). Just wondering if anyone can give me advice as to best/easiest place to fly into. Flying direct to Pamplona is awfully expensive I've discovered. I'm looking at maybe flying into Biarittz or Bilbao and then bussing/training to Pamplona .... can anyone give me ideas? Or is there another option that I don't know about! Thanks in anticipation. Cheers, Trish xx

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

barcelona or madrid. quite far away, but from both cities you can take a train to pamplona that will take you there in less than 4 hours. there are buses too (cheaper, but these take a bit longer)

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Pamplona airport is poorly connected and expensive. Here are several other options ... no one option is better than another ... it depends on your timings.

Option 1 See this thread for information London to Biarritz Airport
http://www.caminodesantiago.me/comm...-links-for-travel-from-london-to-sjpdp.23382/

Option 1a. Edsa Bus from Biarritz Airport to Bus station Pamplona.

Option 1b. From Biarritz Airport take bus #C to Gare Biarritz. From Gare Biarritz catch the SNCF train to Irun/Hendaye. From Irun station catch Renfe train to Pamplona.

Renfe

Option 1c. From Biarritz airport take Conda or PESA bus to San Sebastian bus station. Connect there for buses to Pamplona. Conda operates several buses per day from San Sebastian to Pamplona.

PESA

Conda

Option 2 Fly London to Madrid (Easy Jet or Ryan Air). Renfe train takes 3 hours from Madrid to Pamplona.

See this thread for information Madrid to Pamplona.

Option 3. Fly to Bilbao. Take bus from Bilbao to Pamplona. Bus from Airport to bus station information found on termibus site.

Bilbao Airport ... see airlines and destination tabs
