Walking From Pobena (Povena) to Castro Urdiales, what's preferable - going through the Tunel de Valverde or taking mountain road?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

From memory , I walked through the tunel with another lady. No problems ., it is a lot shorter than the other way but the guys walked over and told us we missed out on beautiful views! They were also surprised to find us ahead of them as they were ahead to start and walk faster !! So we caught up using the tunel

Buen Camino

Thanks, Annie.
I heard that walking through the tunnel, though shorter by 8 Km, could be risky, but your answer has solved my problem.

I also walked through the tunnel (Oct 2016).
It did look a bit risky though!:

Thanks, Jill.
It sure appears spooky in the photo, but the fact that it is not a traffic tunnel, and that you and Annie of the previous reply, have done it, more or less guarantees that it is possible to come out of it alive.
