Vaude Brenta 38L - Walking from either Paris or Puy

Time of past OR future Camino
Le Puy - Figeac (2012); Camino Frances (August 28, 2015)
I just have spent a few days trying out various backpacks and finally chose the Vaude Brenta 38 Litre because it fit. I had designs on both Osprey and Deuter but they didn't fit my body all that well. I am a short guy with broad shoulders. I haven't a clue if it will last a journey of about 1500 km, but I will find out. I will be leaving Canada either in mid-August or the end of August (to be decided before too long so I can book air flights), and I will either walk from Paris or Puy or Arles - my first "camino" is going to be memorable for me at the age of 63.

Wondering if anyone has info on my backpack that I should be concerned about, as well as experience on the three longer trails to help me make up my mind.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Good on you. No info on the other trails other than the STJPP to Santiago. Always wanted to do the Le Puy to Santiago but life decided otherwise. Only advise on the backpack, make sure there is plenty padding on the shoulder straps. Have a great Camino.

Buen Camino. :) :) :)

Hi WayFarer - thanks for the comment. I will make sure to have padding in place. I don't expect my pack to be all that heavy as it is small by most standards for a male pilgrim. :)

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Mine was/is a Gregory 40 Z. Lovely pack but could have done with more shoulder padding. Then again I have bony shoulders and suffered a bit. Pack weight was 10k. The Le Puy route is supposed to be very beautiful, difficult, with lots of climbing and decending or so I was told by someone who did it. Either way you will love it.
Enjoy.
