I'll do the blog, but probably not till I get back. I often manage to post photos from my phone but not much else. If I manage to find a computer I will post something. I should be home on 24th September, if all goes well, and then I will post info.Enjoy! And I will be watching your post with great interest as we plan to do part of the VF in mid October! Will you do the blog too?
Buon cammino! A wonderful walkI'm about to try and do the VF from Reims to Aosta. I will post how it goes on the VF Forum.
Sulu,
Have you seen this French info re walking the VF?
Your first steps from Reims towards Châlons-en-Champagne will cross famous vineyards where the vendange has just begun. Years from now when you sip a glass of vintage 2017 the bubbles will have a most special meaning.
Good luck, Bon chemin and in the truest sense, Ultreia!
That's a lovely offer, thank you very much. You've caught me on the hop here, I've kind of planned my route but I will have another look tomorrow and pm you. I have a deadline to be in Langres on the 8th as it's my 70th!!!!In France there is a often a Chain of Local ( donativo )
Hospitality offered for passing pilgrims. See more in French here. Those who offer such hospitality do so for the pleasure of meeting/greeting pilgrims as well as helping them find their way. Check to see if such a Chain of Local Hospitality/ l'Accueil pèlerins à domicile exists where you will travel elsewhere in France.
For example my husband and I live in a small Champagne village, facing the Marne river where the vendange will start early in September.
We have a b & b but also provide simple family hosting for passing pilgrims. My first pilgrim shell hangs at our door marking the path.
Perhaps you would enjoy spending time with us? You could take the TER train from Reims to Epernay and Dormans. It is a 6km walk from Dormans to our farmhouse.
It would be a great pleasure to meet/great you and share camino tales!
