Via Augusta/VDLP FEB ‘19

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Via Augusta/VDLP ~Feb 25th
Hi, Colette,

I hope you'll post some observations from the walk, especially on Via Augusta. Although they are both on my wish list there's much less info on Augusta.

Buen Camino!

PS (BTW, how are things developing re albergue in Riego del Camino?)

@KinkyOn, will do. Re the Via Augusta, I believe two other Ivar members will walk before me (Dec and Jan) so I’m really looking to their experience for my planning.

Re the albergue in Riego de Camino.....I had planned to view it this past month after walking the Ingles but cut my trip short after arriving in SDC as I picked up a nasty stomach virus. While staying my 3rd time at the Albergue Estación del Tren in SDC (I’m amazed that the owner always remembers me), he and I chatted about the albergue option. He was enthusiastic but cautioned me not to believe it could be legally registered as an albergue until I had it checked out by an architect/builder - apparently even a donativo has to follow certain builders dimensions/bathroom #/ etc. It’s one reason I want to walk the entire VDLP plus as I sat on the 5am train from SDC to Madrid on Nov 6th, at one point near Zamora I actually saw the mojones and a lone pilgrim walking......it looked like a meseta to me. I don’t jump off “life” cliffs anymore so if it’s meant to be it will happen, all in “god’s” time.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
