Time of past OR future Camino
2019
Good day fellow pilgrims and friends.
I have a request that I hope there is someone out there who can help.
After completing my last Camino France I have decided that I have at least one more left in these legs so I'm planning walking the De La Plata.
I've tried scrolling online for the past couple of hours searching for the best route guide but I'm at a loss. I was hoping John Brierley had one but he hasn't, so is there any pilgrims past or present that can recommend a guide book like the Brierley type I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks
Keith

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Maybe this one by Gerald Kelly?
He is also a member of his forum.

And then there is also the informative site from Gronze.

I am researching the VdlP as well; Gerald Kelly, mentioned above, keeps his guide up to date and is a great resource. (He just walked it again this summer, and recently announced the updated free guide is available on his website: https://www.viadelaplataguide.net .) Just throwing out there, if you use FB, he has a page that often posts from people walking "live" with current information (albergue status; weather; food/drink/pharmacy options, etc.). Wise Pilgrim does an excellent job on its app for this route (as always). These options are more straightforward and less philosophical than the guides John Brierley (RIP) produced, but they are just as helpful, IMHO. Buen camino!

I walked the VdlP in April this year. (though North to Astorga not the Sanabres)
I carried a Guide from Gerald Kelly and WisePilgrim.
Though I found myself referring most to Gronze.
And google maps for bars/cafes etc!
I managed to keep my stages at 20-25 kms mostly.
If you want to see what it's like I have a day by day blog here with videos and photos.

Feel free to reach out with any questions. It's a great route.

Agree re Wise Pilgrim app which has GPS, offline map use and you can break down stages, distances etc. Not quite JB but holds his spirit.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Hi a
I've just spent the past couple of hours going through your daily blog and photos, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your daily diary and it's really given me the reason to walk the VDLP to the Camino Portugese.
Thanks very much.
I do have a couple of questions though:
Are there enough clear signpost, shells or other Camino directions on the route.
Is there a travel passport you stamp along the way and if there is did you get it in Saville
Once again thanks for your support Robbo
