Villafranca del Bierzo Bus Stop

Time of past OR future Camino
First one in 1977 by train. Many since then by foot. Next one ASAP.
A fairly obscure request, but important for my planning purposes, now that my ability to walk is compromised....There's an small bus company -- Gonzalez & De La Riva -- that provides bus transportation from Ponferrada/Cacabelos/Villafranca del Bierzo three days a week to Las Herrerias.... Where are the bus stops in Villafranca and in Las Herrerias?

I also was injured in VdB and looked for the same information after getting the name from Rome2Rio. Never found any other information or the location. When we were walking later from Vega de Valcarce to Las Herrerías, I did see one of their vans (NOT a bus) being used to transport kids to a local school, but no info or phone # was on the van. Sorry not much help!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I took a bus from Villafranca del Bierzo to Lugo in 2019 but don't remember what company it was operated by. My bus picked me up at the bus stop I marked in the following screen shots from google maps. After a few hundred meters it made a U-turn to the right onto the A-6 to then go northwest.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Nice illustrations! I'm pretty sure that that is the ALSA bus stop. But is it also the bus stop for the tiny local company that runs up the Valcarce Valley?

Rappa, where are you now and where are you going?
Turning 70 in a few months. Retired as Rector of my little Virginia parish, but still busy as a mere Priest-in-Residence.... My last Camino was Spring 2022 -- did Samos to SdeC, then the Ingles.... Since then I've fallen twice and totally screwed up my back. Ambulatory, but my cross-country days are over.... Planning a kind of "Farewell Camino" in October, with a few old friends. Lots of bussing, very little walking. But I can't not go back to Spain!

(Need more? PM me. )

Well, when you get to Spain, the easiest thing to do is to pop into a bar and ask about busses or taxis. I fell four times in one afternoon descending Cruz de Ferro in 2022. Then got sick and holed up in Villafranca for a few days. While there we were told to go to the tobbaconist in the town square to buy a bus ticket and then walk to the hotel Charlotta to catch the bus. The same place depicted on the aerial shot above.
If you want a cab the bar or accommodation will just call one for you.

That I don't know, but it would make sense as it is a safe spot for busses to stop.

You could e-mail the company directly. Something like that:

"Me podría informar, por favor, dónde exactamente hace parada su autobus en Villafranca del Bierzo para ir a Las Herrerías, y dónde queda la parada en Las Herrerías? Muchas gracias."

Good luck!
