Walking March 09 from st jean pied de port - want to join me

Hi all,

I'm an Aussie lady who would love to walk the Camino beginning at the end of March 09. Its a plan I've had for a while and would like to do it before it gets too hot. I would prefer to start from St Jean Pied de Port. While I plan for it to take 40 days at a reasonable pace, I am not worried if it takes longer or if I have to catch a bus here and there as I want to enjoy it and not pressure myself.

Would love to share this amazing experience with someone if possible.

Kind regards

Gabbie

Welcome Gabbie. What a great plan. 40 days - wonderful. You may very well have time to spare as you might well get faster as you go on. But also you'll have time to linger and enjoy. In terms of sharing the experience with others - you WILL - there will be lots of other pilgrms around!

Happy planning and buen camino

You'll almost certainly find enough ad-hoc walking companions, for a day or a few days or just to meet in the evenings - there's no need to go looking for one now and fix it in advance - it'll just add to the pressure of both of you agreeing on how far you plan to walk each day

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).

Gabbie...welcome!

As you can see there's a Forum full of folks that have, or will walk the Way to Santiago and everyone is excited to offer you valuable information and insight.

Might I also suggest that you check out the Class of 2009 topic and the Camino Calendar at the bottom of this page to see who may be walking at the same time. Also, follow the directions and insert your start...finish dates.

Buen Camino,
Arn
