Hi there.
Im starting my second camino this year, the del norte route, but am unsure of what to bring of gear. Does anyone know what weather conditions to expect in June?

kind regards, Bella

Hi Bella, I am starting June 4 from Irun. When do you plan to begin? Have a wonderful journey.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi Bella, you should know that the weather is different to the Frances - it's a rainy maritime climate in a mountainous region, very different to the dry stretches you find in the interior! It can be particularly wet in the Basque country - but so long as you have a big poncho to cover everything, boots that can deal with rain and mud, poles if you think you need them, you'll be ok (although don't overdo it with the boots - the weather can change from torrential downpours to 30 degree sunshine in a finger snap!) So in a nutshell: it can be very wet, but it's summer and generally quite warm, and things will dry overnight - so really nothing much to worry about x

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Pues no sería en junio porque en mi pueblo no es que lloviera mucho.

Well it would not be in June because in my town is not that much rain.

En junio, deberías de tener un poco de todo.

In June, you should have a little bit of everything.

Hi Bella
I was wondering the same thing as I am also starting from Irun in June. As you have walked to Santiago before you might think the same as me in that it's better having too little gear than too much. You can always pick up more stuff on the way if you are cold / wet.

Today on the news they have given a weather forecast for June and according to this June will be quite dry in all Spain and temperatures higher than usual in the East (Basque country, Cantabria) and normal in the West (Asturias, Galicia).

Walked the Pyrenees to Irun, and from Irun to Bilbao June 2014: We had a lot of rain and quite cold. Not a single really nice day. Walked from Bilbao to Cadavedo June 2015: We had a wonderful walk with no rain at all and perfect temperature. What to expect? Everything... Buy what you need if you need something you do not have. Hi,

Since you are from Norway: I thought the weather was very much like high summer in Norway/Sweden (southern parts) in june-july: could be 25, 30+ C, but of course never as hot as in southern Spain during the heat waves. And days of rain of course. I brought an umbrella and it served me very well (if it wasn't too windy). I hate to mess with the poncho... But as my answer is quite late I guess you have already found out abouth the weather!
