Hello guys!
yes ive started from Irun. it is my third day of walking(irun-san sebastian-zarautz-zumaia)
i couldnt walk much so far, because of the RAIN
wow, i didnt expect that it will rain this much.. i didnt really read careful about the weather.. just heard that galicia region, it rains alot..
so im seriously thinking of chaning my route, or.. just quit or whatever..
since i really dont like rains.
is it always like this all the way to santiago?
how about frances?
i love HOT weather, i like to walk under the strong sun. i prefer that.
if i want to feel the real summer weather, what should i do for now?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I walked from irun to Oviedo last year starting on June 24th. I had very little rain. Maybe just a day or two. In fact, my first week was very sunny and clear. I looked at a weather website and it looks like Sunday will be sunny and remain so for several days. I hope it improves. It's a really beautiful route.

Hi Sabina,
Looking at the weather and news for Cantabria and Asturias, it would seem that there will be some fine dry days on the way for you! The problem will be damaged roads (and rail) networks. The river crossings on the Norte depend on the 'A road' bridges and some of them seem to have been washed out from Ribadesella onwards. I have no doubt that the army will soon have temporary ones in place but I would suggest that you keep asking the hospitaleros and locals what the situation is for the next 'etapa'.
The alternative would be to go down to Leon from Santander and walk the Frances??? Ivar or others may know what conditions are like on the Ingles, but you would need to check on the bus services - the FEVE is certainly out near Villaviciosa.

Blessings on your walking

Reading the Spanish news site things are now improving. The army has been helping local workers. As a result the FEVE has been able to re-open and work continues on the roads.
No doubt the locals, especially the hospitaleros, will be able to offer up to date advice where needed.
As Sil reports elsewhere a large group of Cantabrians left Santander on 16th to go through to Santiago.
Hopefully the Camino, even if muddy, will be open right through for those walking all the way as well as transport available where needed.
Buen Camino to all walking now,
Tio Tel and Tia Valeria

Hi Ann,
I have put a post under 'Weather on Primitivo', with comments and a piccy. I think it is best to post under designated topics then others can find it too.
