What's the deal with Vigo?

Time of past OR future Camino
Ingles - June 2015
Portugues - sometime soon, I hope
I have seen a couple of different threads with comments like, "I didn't enjoy the walk entering Vigo," or "be careful entering and leaving Vigo."

Is this a safety issue (traffic, or otherwise) or a waymarking issue (difficult to find), or what? Is there something that needs to be explained?

Help, please!

Vigo is a big city with all pro's and contra's.
You enter by industrial estates, busy roads, leading into the towncenter.
Also leaving the town at the north side you'll meet railways, busy roads etc.
But it is nice town. i have been there several times and liked it.
The waymarkers are okay in Vigo. They lead to the higher part of the town.
We had a hotel in the citycenter so left the waymarked route, went down to the waterside and the railwaystation and followed the signs to Redondela and picked up the yellow waymarkers later on.

Thank you Albertinho. Your insightful posts provided us with so much information when we were planning our Camino Ingles, and I truly appreciate reading your words of advice. I'm sure with all the help from this group of fellow pilgrims we will have an amazing experience on the Portugues just as we did the Ingles!
