Hi all

I will be flying home in a few days and need a cardboard bike box

Was in the big decathlon store and they had none

I've heard that there's a post office that sells boxes.

Which one of the post offices in Santiago sells the boxes?

Many thanks

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi - when we needed to send our bikes back to Germany at the end of the Camino the post office in Santiago was great - we just dropped the bikes of with them and they sent them back for a very reasonable price (much less than taking them on our flight), but that was several years ago. They probably sell boxes too, and there is an office right near the cathedral with very helpful staff. I have also gotten boxes from small bike shops when traveling and needed them for a flight, ones they were finished with but still good enough to be used.

Here is info in English re sending bikes by Correos the Spanish postal service. Use their link to ask them any questions. They will respond quickly.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
A week or two ago I was in the Correos down the street from the Cathedral, and several cyclists were boxing up their bikes there in boxes they had obtained in the office. I forget the address but you'll easily find it.

Hi Colin

My partner and I rode the Camino a few years ago. We arranged to drop out bikes off at Bicicletas Oliviera, close to the cathedral. They boxed the bikes and arranged a taxi to take us and teh bikes to teh airport. It was painless and did not cost much

We arrived in Bilbao after cycling through France. We just went into a bike shop and they were more than happy to just give us 2 boxes. Good luck

You can obtain a bike box from the Correos branch office that is adjacent to the Pilgrim Office. You really can't miss it.

They offer bike shipping services from there - couldn't be easier - but overseas shipping might be difficult. However, I am sure they would be willing to sell you the box, and tape to close it.

Hope this helps.
