Marriott Convention Center or Marriott AC Hotel Coslada are our go to places near the airport. Both have airport shuttles and the city bus stops out front to take you into town or alternatively take the shuttle back to the airport and then metro, Bus, or C train into town.

We also stay at the AC Atocha which is near Atocha Station and Central to everything. Easy to get back to the airport by express bus or C train from there.

I am a Marriott Platinum member so often stay for free on points...

If you have 4 days in Madrid, let me suggest that you stay closer to the city center since metro service is great to get you back to the airport. Our favorite smaller hotel near the Plaza Mayor is the Hostal Santa Cruz (Metro: Sol). It’s walking distance to many attractions and great neighborhoods. For a city center hotel it is very reasonably priced.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

I agree completely. I stayed near the airport once because I arrived in the late afternoon after a 11 hour flight and had an early morning flight the next day. I stayed in a very nice hotel with a shuttle near the airport but there was very little nearby. A few restaurants and bars and apartment houses. Unless you have a reason to be near the airport, you will go crazy.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Do not stay at Hostel Viky, it is not very nice. It’s ok for one night but four wouldn’t be great.

Hostel Met Madrid is very nice in the city. It’s close to the Mercado and on the same
street as the Madrid camino church where I got my final stamp.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Last year I stayed at Hostal Delphina on Gran Villa in a super sweet room with private bath for 32 Euro/night. (cash only). Fantastic location, walking distance to all central sites and also to Cibeles, where one can catch the airporter bus, both coming and going - easy peasy.

I believe Delphina does most of her bookings through direct communication. I reserved via email.

I have been staying with a delightful Airbnb host in Madrid for the last couple of days. A couple of minutes walk to a Metro station and easy to get in from the airport.

Take a look on Airbnb but concentrate on hosts with good access to public transport.

Would you mind sharing the name of the AirBnB? If I do a search, how will I find this gem?
