Primitivo
Hi all,

I am starting the primitivo today, but as it seems not all Albergos that should be open according the the BuenCamino app answer the phone to make a reservation. Anyone already walked the primitivo this year and can you advise which accommodation is open at the end of each stage? Looking forward to hear your tips and tricks , thanks!!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
A lot of albergues, in particular public ones, simply do not take reservations at any time. They may not be staffed all day either, especially in winter. I would try phoning ahead day by day to see if the next albergue is open. If there is a hospitalero at the albergue you are staying in, they will probably help you with this.

Get WhatsApp...sometimes an albergue owner will respond thru WhatsApp . But the municipals, if they're open, won't take reservations.

I will be honest...I don't know how long or short your early stages will be. Be prepared to carry food when you find an open tienda, and be prepared to be very flexible about where you stay until you get to Lugo.

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Not many accommodations open until March 1st on the Primitivo, but enough. It will be fairly solitary. On day 1, Albergue Palatina and restaurant will be open, although it's probably too close to Oviedo for you unless you start late. In Grado, Albergue La Quintana is open. In Salas, Casa Sueño will be open if Patricia has come back from her brief holiday. Patricia, from Brazil, speaks perfect English and will be able to tell you where is open the next few stages west of Salas.

We just returned this week and there is VERY little open (albergues, hotels, cafes, bars). We booked everything on booking.com and got lucky with the snacks packed. We were told most services don't open until March as another person posted.

Thanks to those of you who have wished me Buen Camino pm! My plan was Salvador/Prim, but 1) cold feet because of a knee (old injury) and 2) would have to rush with no possibilty of short/rest...
