Which German guidebook for Norte: Yellow or Red

I am trying to figure out which German guidebook is the best as I have seen both mentioned (Stein-Yellow and Rother-Red). For those of you have done del Norte which was the one you saw the most? Thanks!!

A selection of Camino Jewellery
When I did the Primitivo, I met a Bayern man and he had the yellow. Reading that the German books tend to be best, I bought the red fot the VDLP by mistake !!! However, the Germans I met on the trail had a mixture. When I questioned them what was better, they said both, but you need to mix the two together !!!

Hi,
A German couple that I walked with brought both the yellow and the red. Among the others, it seemed to be an even mix of red and yellow. Either one of them seemed better than the other VDLP guidebooks that I've seen.

Both of the German books had their strong points, but it was widely agreed while we were walking that the German books were the best. If you can read or don't mind translating get a German book!!! (I tried when I got back to Canada but I couldn't find any here.
;-(

IMHO the version of Conrad Stein is very, very good ! I used it in 2006 and saw at their website a lot of comments of people with some very good advices about the route, etc.

Good Camino,
