Which part of the Frances for a week?

I have walked SJPdP-Logroño and are now planning to walk with 4-6 friends. We will just use a week (6-7 days). Is Logroño and Burgos a great walk for us? I have read different comments on this part of the Frances and I would like to show them something really nice.

Should we choose the last part of Frances instead? In that case where to start? We will travel to Madrid and because we just have one week it is good to have quick transportation from and to Madrid.

Will it be a problem to walk so many people together and find accomodations at the same place in high season?

In case you long to a Compostela, you should walk Ponferrada (6 or 7 days) or Sarria (5days) to SdC.
But the part you mentioned is a nice one, especially if you are walking as a group.
Both cities are reachable by train or bus from Madrid.

Logroño and Burgos are very worth visiting, many things to do and to see.
If you do, I recommend to walk up to the castle, just above the cathedral in Burgos.

I would urge you to continue your previous journey- do Logrono to Burgos. Lots to see, varied but not difficult terrain. Ideal for a group, and without the bed issues that might affect the Sarria-SDC section.

Logroño to Burgos seems to me an excellent choice, it crosses some interesting places like Nájera, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Grañon (my favorite donativo), Belorado... Furthermore, it is short enough to leave you enough time to visit Burgos (the cathedral is one of the most beautiful).

Last year I started my CF journey in Logroño and loved the walk to Burgos. It's beautiful with some very interesting towns. I took the route through Ventosa which is worth the extra 1km; art along the trail, very nice café and after the town you pass the place where Roldan fought Ferragut. There are interesting things all along the route. Santo Domingo is certainly worth investigating.

If I was walking with a group of 6 I'd be tempted to pre-book my accommodation. There are places like Grañon that can't be booked but are really special Pilgrim experiences. (Nb you are only given a mattress on the floor.)

IMO it will be nicer for you to have the continuity to your journey. Many people tackle long Caminos in sections. You carry on with your same credential but do get another dated stamp from Logroño when you start this time.
