Hello fellow Camino Travellers. I will be cycling the Camino Portugues from Porto to Santiago next week! If you have any comments about a route and places to stay for the three of us travelling together then that would be great. Thanks,Richard

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I have just researched and written in english the coastal route from Porto to Redondela which is incredibly beautiful. You follow the coast so it's nice and flat crossing beaches and dunes before catching the ferry from Caminha to enter the Galician border town and port of A Guarda continuing to follow the coat via Baiona, Oia,Nigran and Vigo until you get to Redondela where it meets the official route. Can't beat it for sheer outstanding beauty and easy on the legs!! Check out a summary of the details here http://caminoways.com/ways/portuguese-coastal-way-caminho-da-costa Will be uploading a video of the route in the next two weeks. For places to stay I suggest you use my mate Lusi Freixo's Blog with excellent, detailed maps in all formats see http://www.caminador.es/?page_id=117Buen camino.

Icarus, that is a real help thank you. Now though I have two questions for you:-
1) do you have a similar link for the central route? We have pretty much decided to take that one.
2) how can we get our camino passports between now and next Wednesday when we fly??

Thanks in advance,
Richard

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I strongly endorse Icarus's recommendation to follow the coastal route and connect to the main route at Redondela. I am sure that you will find those who followed the main route all the way from Porto will have strong opinions as well. I did meet up with several pilgrims in Redondela who regretted not taking the coastal route. It was just so incredibly beautiful and the local people were so generous. Many days I ate fish that the restaurant owners personally caught that morning. Either route, you can't go wrong.
