It feels like all of a sudden, after nine months of planning and dreaming - we are six days (OMG!) from flying from Tauranga via Auckland to Barcelona and from there starting our first Camino from La Laguna.
We are excited to walk this ancient trail and make new memories together, an old married couple who are still really really bestest mates. This trip marks and celebrates our 40th wedding anniversary. Pretty cool right ? 😎. We think so anyway 😊
We are truly thankful for (and sometimes amused by or bemused by 😊) the contributions of folks on the forum, but most of all grateful for the generosity of sharing. This is a special place, thanks to Ivar and family and to the community here. Thank you all for the advice, knowledge and support. Guess we’ll see you on the other side! Buen camino, best wishes from we two kiwis 🥰

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Wishing you a big 'Buen Camino'. Enjoy the botifarra! Careful when in the centre of Barcelona. Have a great Camino!
Good plan to 'enjoy' at least a short but stiff hike up to O Cebreiro.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Wow! Buen Camino. Sounds like you have earned and well deserve a grand adventure. The nerves will disappear soon enough, once you’re on the trail. Takes a few days to get into it but you’ll be fine. Enjoy every step and every stop!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Wishing you the best Camino. May you find the beauty in the momentous stage you have chosen to undertake. Take it ALL in and may you both come through stronger than ever. Together..

We walked out first Camino on our 40th, in 2013. Realised what good mates we are👍

Congrats on embarking on your first Camino! I am so excited for you and your “bestie” of 40 years! Cannot think of a better way to mark the occasion! Yes I do believe this must be a thing, my bestie and I (both a young 72 years) will be embarking on our 4th Camino at the end of August and celebrating our 40th as well.

All the best from 2 kiwis. One from Gisborne the other from Auckland. We walked the camino from Leon to Santiago this month in 2018. In August going the whole way from SJPD to Santiago. It is something very special. Buen Camino
