12th C. St. James Statue above Spanish Gate at SJPDP

Above in a niche above the medieval Spanish Gate at SJPDP, St. James overlooks and blesses pilgrims on their way. Great memories!
There is a statue of John the Baptist on the OTHER side of the gate which faces the old bridge across the Nive and the rue d'Espagne district. This picture is of the niche facing the church/square and it is a 12th C. representation of St. James.
