Also a good stable cup is a 'must'. Our travel mug is straight sided and so wide bottomed. Our melamine cup is narrow bottomed and would be far less stable.

What kind of bottle do you have?
I got a wide mouth Nalgene (1 litre) which I used as a hot water bottle.
I have just tested if the coil fits in there and it went well.
