    Granada-Mérida

Hi there, I walked from Granada in April 2010, and it was easy to get the credencial from the office of the cathedral. It is just behind the cathedral itself, and from memory the office was open in the morning and afternoon, with a middle of the day closure. All the best. it's a beautiful walk.

My apologies. I forgot to reply. Mine is a Peak Aspiration 40L. And I still love it.

    Many Pilgrims This June?

Dear Bjørg, That's very exciting news, to think that I will have others near me on the road. Good luck with your preparations, and perhaps closer to the time we might even be able to link up for a coffee or vino before we begin. I think my start date will be approximately April 7th, but have...

    Many Pilgrims This June?

Thank you so much for the links, J Walker. The table is fascinating, and I figure that if 42 folk can do it, then I better just get my pack on and deal with the butterflies. A bit of fear is never a bad thing! Very motivating...

    Aarn Backpacks

Hi there, I walked the Frances with my Aarn, and absolutely loved it. I also met a pilgrim who had walked 200km with an Aarn, and she greeted me like a long-lost sister because of our packs. I didn't use the front pockets - didn't need to. In terms of waterproofing, the internal sack is...

    Many Pilgrims This June?

Can anyone give any figures for the Mozarabe route, please? Even guesstimates? I want to start from Granada after easter, and link with the Via in Merida. I have allowed 6 to 7 weeks in total. I'd very grateful for any assistance. I have walked the Frances, but have heard, and read, that...

    Women alone?

Hi laurie, Thanks for your thoughtful reply. My Spanish is pretty basic. Italian is better. But I can certainly get by. And I don't actually think it is the loneliness that troubles me so much as the aloneness in terms of safety, and finding accomodation. I was just reading the "Mozarabe in...

    Women alone?

Thanks Laurie. Much appreciated. I walked the frances sola, and feel I will manage the Via (fingers crossed and with all the usual provisos!), but have had a fluttery nervy feeling in my tummy about the Mozarabe. Not sure why. Is it about being alone, I ask myself, or is it the fact that...

    Women alone?

Apologies, Ajda, I don't have an answer, but a question to add to yours... Is it also safe to walk alone on the Mozarabe? Aleesha

    Class of 2010

Hello, I am hoping to walk the Via Mozarabe in March 2010. I would be very glad of any assistance or comments, as there is almost nothing available on most forums. I will hook up with the Via de la Plata in Merida. If anyone has a strong feeling that a lone female walker should not attempt the...
