My other hack for protecting my passport, it to have a laminated copy of the password ID page taped to my pilgrim’s credentials. That way in most cases people registering for accommodation accept the copy rather than hading them the original.

I use champagne corks, just drill a hole for the pole tapered end to into. You get about 100 km or so out of a set of corks , so you need to drink a bottle of champagne every 50 km which is very nice in deed.

I used a Aldi/ Crane microfibres towel. Dry me well after a shower, has multiple uses scarf, cooling towel, sling, legionnaires hat, mask, pillow case, table cloth, pillow slip, sunny holder. Light and drys quickly.
I had an osprey Exos 38 litre but it was generally less than half full. Male 67 175 and 80 kg.
I also had a bum/Fanny pack of a 3 or 4 liters which I used to carry my money, cards, pilgrim credentials and passport. This was always attached to me.
Basically my advice is take as little as possible.

Yes you must carry power banks in your carry on luggage, there are also size limits which are approximately 20000mAh so make sure the you know the size of your power bank . I had two confiscated in by China airport as they were too large of capacity.
