Backpacks and poles = check or carry on?
I disagree that 'the vast majority go without them'. We've just completed the Camino, and in common with most peregrinos, were helped considerably by having our poles. Easy jet and Ryan air don't allow them in the aircraft, but attached to our packs in the hold did not prove to be a problem...- andrewr
