This is interesting. In 2016 I walked from Logrono to Portomarin but had to stop due to injury. I never realised I could go back and finish from there. That particular camino meant a lot to me, it was the one where I made some special life long friends and I think I would like to go and...
Hi Amy, I will also start walking May 18th with 2 friends from the US I met last year on the camino. Im so thrilled we were able to co-ordinate our dates..we will definitely see you in St Jean!
I had a great experience there in May this year. In fact I was allowed stay 2 nights because I was limping badly with tendonitis. A Spanish hospitalero, Carlos saw me limping and insisted on treating my foot with aromatherapy oils for at least 30 minutes in the courtyard. It really helped and...
.
What a wonderful gift you are giving your wife and of course for you this Camino will be totally different to your previous one. I have walked alone and walked with friends and both were just right at the time for me. Buen Camino
I must say Im smiling to myself reading the confusion between color and nationality, Im Irish, My adopted darkskinned Romanian daughter is Irish, her African partner, born in Nigeria is an Irish citizen now and both their children, very dark skinned are Irish. So, it can lead to some confusion...
I missed this thread but I have to put in my most favorite meal and evening of the whole camino. Private albergue Casa do Rego at A Pena, stage 29. Only 6 beds and communal meal cooked by Lorenzo who is a chef. His Philippino wife and their 4 year old daughter were a delight. Amazing salad...
What an interesting thread! I'm home just 6 days after making the tough decision at Portomarin that my tendonitis was getting worse and I just could not walk any further. It started when I was coming into Carrion de los Condes and I walked on it the next day. Had to taxi to Sahagun and rested 2...
I walked today from Astorga to Rabanal leaving at 7am. Lots of pilgrims all the way. I have tendonitis so walked really slowly but had either someone with me or in sight all the time. Nothing to worry about if you leave early, plenty of pilgrims on the trail
Hi Seamus, Im on your flight and going from St Jean to Finisterre but at a much more leisurely pace. I will be the one following you around trying to inhale your cigarillos as I quit smoking last year and still love the smell! Anne
I have 'found' 6 weeks and cant wait until i start walking again...on april 24th. I cant even explain what the camino does for me but I just cant resist the call back. Its great to have this forum to express the way I feel to like minded people who 'get' what im talking about. My family and...
