I have often had this issue myself and found that walking poles completely alleviated the problem, probably because they help increase circulation. Also make sure you are keeping hydrated.

Forget the airport hotel. You are much better off staying in the centre of Madrid and taking the metro or the airport shuttle (runs from Atocha station every 15 to 30 minutes, 24 hours a day and it's only 5Euros). There is also a train direct from the centre to the airport. I once stayed...
Scruffy is so right! Pilgrims menus tend to be high in cheap carbs and low in flavour. I would rather have tapas or other nibble or just an entree than most of the pilgrim menus. Check out what the locals are eating and order that.
I will be starting in Pamplona next Monday and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a Credencial there. I'll be in a hotel the first night, (getting my last good night sleep), so will need to find one before setting out Monday morning. Are they available in most auberges?
