Dearest Ivar and all Forum friends,
Tomorrow is THE day. I will being putting several time zones between me and all I hold dear. You know how I feel. You have either put feet on the path or are planning to do so.
You have helped me as I tried to decide on boots or trainers, you have...
This may be of interest to any fellow AT&T users. If you bought your iPhone from AT&T and have one of their plans, the SIM code is locked. I am on a Family Plan and simply added a European travel package: $30 for 30 mins of talk and $10 for 50 send/receive texts. A bit pricey but the best I...
Glad I stumbled onto this thread as I am leaving Thursday the 19th.
Here is my info: iPhone 4, Family Plan through AT&T, landing in Bilbao and busing to Logroño. I need to text home daily letting the family know I am alive and in what city.
I should buy my SIM card in Spain?
I should buy a...
With regard to weather - if you have an iPhone you can load various cities along the Camino on to your pull down board (not sure what it is actually called - it's the thing you can drag down from the top of the screen).
I have been keeping track if temps and conditions.
I am a week away from my first Camino. I find the tears are already coming.

Blessings,
Deborah

And I totally understand the "gulp." My planning has been a year-long process (the Forum members have been my constant companions and mentors) and...
Thank you, Margaret for your quick response. From some of the posted information I am considering slathering my feet in Vaseline, encasing them in bubble wrap, and then wrapping the whole deal in duct tape. :)
In days past, mums would get their little ones first shoes bronzed. If that service...
I hear of "hot spots." Could someone tell me what these are? My difficulty seems to be that after some walking my toe goes numb - sort of a pre-cramp. Any help on these?
Isn't it amazing the pilgrims of old managed the Camino in thin leather shoes.
Pax,
Deborah
Keep a smile on your face, a prayer in your heart, and your eyes open.
On the practical side, I have photographed my passport and credit card and e-mailed them to myself. I have used a subject line something like You Idiot or Bad Luck to hide the contents. Just in case someone's sticky fingers...
Ruth,
I am so sorry for your situation. Heed all of the good advice you have been given and I will keep you in my prayers.
This brings up a question I have has. If I arrive in a town by taxi or bus am I still allowed to get a stamp and stay in an albergue?
