For those that like using the phone, it's an amazing tool. The fact that I don't doesn't diminish the value of your advice. I'm sure it'll ease the worry of many so I'm glad it's there.
Whenever I can, I'll sleep near the exit and will always pack the night before so that I can slip out early for just this sort of thing...
I love to walk under a full moon...
I'll be walking The Madrid, but I think my suggestion applies: Whether you use Google translate, as suggested above, or are like me and prefer a phrase book, I think you should try to speak a little of the native language, even if the person you're talking to speaks English. I believe it shows a...
Concerning the movie:
I once offered this question in a Facebook forum and deleted it because some wanted turn it into an argument. The question still interests me and I'd like to offer it here. Please move it if you think it belongs in another thread.
If you and I met along the Camino, or...
I'm probably going to open my mouth and expose my technically-challenged brain, but can you stream something in the US from an online source in Australia?

I know! I've always said... wouldn't it be great if there were more bookstores than bottle shops? When I found that there WAS such a place, it became one of my 'have-to-dos'.
It's 27 k off to the west, from Wamba. I plan to take a rest day in the town and browse...buy a book written in Spanish...
I understand and agree with the logic of booking a couple of days in advance... especially C clearly's point of showing respect to those taking care of the albergue.
My problem is that I'll be looking of detours and am lucky enough not to be on a strict time-table. I'm already leaving the...
Thanks. That's where I've found it. I was looking in the wrong place and once SapsP gave me the only information I needed... that there WAS buses, it was just a matter of continuing the search.
THanks so much to you both.
I'm walking the Camino Madrid beginning May 3rd. Once I reach Sahagun, I'm thinking of traveling to Bilbao and walking the entire Olvidado. Does anyone have information on traveling from Sahagun to Bilbao?
Initial searches offer travel to Leon, then up to Oviedo and over, which seems a very...
Training is almost over.
The weight of my pack is now a familiar friend. The handles of my sticks have become so comfortable to my hands that I can tell with eyes closed which is left and which is right. The crunch of gravel beneath my boots is the back-beat rhythm to the melody of the birds'...
Start the Madrid on May 3rd. Buen Camino
Hey, Fellow Aussie. Do you have a Guide book for the Madrid. I have two... if we can find a way to get it to you before you travel. I'm just North of Brisbane
Your post has been on my mind since I first read it a couple of days ago. I'd like to share one other thing...
A few years ago my wife and I went on a trip here in Australia, The Great Ocean Road. My wife loved to fly and there were these glider rides, which she had never done. I tried so hard...
Just my feeling, but...
I'd have never had a second thought, if my wife had really wanted something "just for her". In a sense, it would NOT have been "just about her". I'd have enjoyed giving it to her as much...or, maybe more, then she would have. Enjoy it and Buen Camino.
