    café con leche

I don't drink coffee in Ireland but I love a Cafe con Leche when in Spain and they were only gorgeous on the Camino! I am an Irish Tea drinker and bring teabags with me in my bag when abroad but only used them at breakfast time on the Camino.

    Camino not for me?

If you are still struggling with it and not having any company along the way, I personally would go on to Sarria and do the last 100km into Santiago de Compestela. Because of the amount of people that do just that part of the Camino, you will never at any stage be on your own. You will...

Leaving on my first Camino in the morning & I'm terrified. Please help!

Elisha, you may be suffering from what happens when a Marathon runner starts to Taper coming up to a marathon. It has happened to me before the two marathons I did. I had every kind of a niggle and was convinced I wasn't going to be able to walk either but on the day of the Marathon everything...

    Live from the Camino

We are very thankful for the good weather we had the first week in October after reading these comments. Buen Camino to everyone!

    Coffee in Spain

I am Irish and would drink a lot more Tea than coffee at home but I love the Café con leche in Spain. Their White Coffee is lovely.

    Camino without alcohol?

I drank very little on the part of the Camino we did last October. I opted for the Water instead. It won't be an issue for you to do that.

    Where are the arrows?

We had the same fun along with a Canadian Couple in finding the Cathedral when we arrived in Santiago. It took a good 30 minutes to eventually get there, but it was well worth it when we did and very emotional with Dad.

Should we give up on Triacastela?

We got back to Ireland from Santiago last night so I am only seeing your post now. We got a taxi from Sarria to Triacastela, it cost €27.00. We walked the hillier version via Samos to Sarria and I must say it was one of our favourite days of the walk to Santiago. The hill after Samos was...

HELP! my wife won't stop eating....

I thought my Dad was bad enough bringing the travel kettle with him when we go tomorrow. Wait until I tell him about the lady and her Rice pot;)

    Wailing woman in Sarria

Hi Lydia, I would say we are on the same flight tomorrow. Really looking forward to it now that it is finally here! I had been checking Accuweather and the forecast looks good until next Friday, we will wait and see...

    Wailing woman in Sarria

I would probably have been a bit freaked out if it if was me on my own as well Siobhan. On a side note, we are leaving from Dublin on Thursday, what way is the weather? We are starting in Triacastela on Friday morning and I am packing tonight. I was just wondering what would you advise to...

    Soddit, my camino flight cancelled

That was not nice news to wake up to this morning Alan. I am glad to read that you have been able to work out getting there. I don't know if you can get a flight to Dublin easy enough for future trips but Aer Lingus do a direct flight to Santiago a few days a week. We are heading out on it...

    Carrying coins and small change

We will start putting away any €5.00, €10.00 and coins over the next week before we go and bring them with us. It is handy having the same currency.

    Tomorrow I'm off!

Hubby ran the marathon in Paris last year so I got to walk around and see all the Sights myself on the Saturday as well as the Sunday. I hope you have a fab time. We found a really lovely Italian Restaurant (carbing for the Marathon) up a side street off the Champ Elysees called Caffe...
