I used the DJI pocket 2 and my phone to record videos. I edited all of them on my phone. Glad you liked them. Thanks!

    My arrival to Santiago

I posted my last video, Arriving in Santiago of my latest Camino on YouTube today. It was a bittersweet one to make. I hope to inspire others to walk the Madrid Camino as it was such a joy accomplish! I am home now missing my daily walk. I'll be back! I'm positive! I hope you enjoy this...

    What is a pilgrim hospital?

I know this question sounds silly but it’s been bugging me for a while. I keep on reading about towns that have what used to be a pilgrims hospital that are now museums, or used for other things. Are they meaning a hospital, as in the place where the sick are treated, or do they really mean...

Best day to arrive in Santiago

We have the choice to arrive in Santiago on a Sunday or a Monday. Which would be better? I ask because maybe there will be businesses closed on Sunday that we would like to have open. Robin

People walking 35 - 40 KM per day

What would Saint John say? I think he would preach the teachings of Christ which were more about themes of peacefulness, acceptance and loving one another. This ancient pilgrimage has roots in much more important concerns than how fast someone is walking or how early one rises. Please, be...

People walking 35 - 40 KM per day

This is what I loved about the Camino Madrid; I was the only one on trail so there was no one to compare to. As soon as I joined others on the French route, I noticed how my mind went into comparison mode. The peacefulness of my journey was disrupted. Best not to compare. When they say “walk...

Having a hard time adjusting to French route after Madrid route

Oh and I forgot to mention, signage for the Camino is poor. You need to follow the white dots. Don’t follow the yellow ones.

Having a hard time adjusting to French route after Madrid route

Tomorrow’s walk will be difficult only if you struggle with hills. Take lots of breaks and hydrate. Fortunately you will be in the woods most of the way so the hot sun won’t get you. Good luck!

Where to buy hiking poles in Madrid

I went to three different places in Madrid because I’m very picky when it comes to poles. They have to be my size, not too heavy, they have to be the kind that folds out not the ones that telescope and they have to have rubber caps on the ends so I don’t make that awful “clinking” sound with...

Having a hard time adjusting to French route after Madrid route

I finished the Madrid route a few days ago and now am walking towards Santiago on the French route. Honestly, I’m struggling with the change. I thought I would enjoy having more people around but the truth is although there are more people around, they don’t seem interested in striking up a...

    Videos from Madrid route

I too I took a cab to Olmedo where I stayed at a four-star hotel, relatively affordable according to American standards. It was a good move as I spent an extra day there allowing the heatwave to pass and my body to recover. From there I walked to Valdestillas. Good luck!

    Videos from Madrid route

Gosh, that would have made a huge difference! I think I’m struggling because I don’t speak the language. I think just when I figure all this out I’ll be done! Thanks for the info!

    Videos from Madrid route

Hi Shaun, I’ve had a couple of trying days. There is nothing in Añe so don’t plan on staying there. Also, I lost out on finding a place in Coca because there was a big wedding there that weekend. It’s too bad too because I really wanted to see the castle there. Be sure to spend an extra night in...
