    Camino Frances in November

Hi, In 2012 I walked from Astorga to Santiago at the beginning of november. Mornings were cold but at midday and in the afternoon I only wore a t-shirt most of the time. It's true that I was lucky with the weather and it only rained two days (one of them pouring down). Two years ago there were...

    Starting in October!

Hi, I see everyday the statistics in Santiago and a lot of pilgrims are on the way. (yesterday 1300 pilgrims arrived) Do you think would it be difficult to find a bed in the mid october from Ponferrada to Santiago?

    Salvador in november

Thank you so much Joe, I have seen your amazing pictures and it seems doable if the weather is not too bad. With a (more or les) sunny day must be really impressive. I will ask to Ender and visit aemet.es to know more about the weather conditions.

    Salvador in november

Thank you for your replies, Last year I found some snow in Somport and some ice in Villafranca Montes de Oca but it was always easy to find the trail. I will consider the weather conditions and if they are too bad I won't start, but it would be a dislike not to enjoy that scenery.

    Salvador in november

Hi, I'm planning to do this Camino in november (by the 10th more or less). I have some doubts: for instance, I don't know if I it's easy to loose the trail in case of snow. I have been watching some posts regarding some problems to find the trail even with no snow at all. Besides, some of you...

    walking in November 2014

Hi, Mi first Camino was in the beginning of November 2012. It was from Astorga and I was very lucky with the weather. It rained two days, and one of them it poured down. The temperatures were mild and most days I could wear only a t-shirt at midday. Last year I did the Camino Aragonés from...

    230.000 pilgrims expected this year

I'm planning to be on the Camino by the 12th october too. It's sunday and so nobody takes it into account for their holidays (maybe people from Zaragoza, as Margaret said).

    Economic crisis in spain

I agree with Peregrina2000. The message we receive everyday from the government is that "hemos vivido por encima de nuestras posibilidades" . But the ones who do that are politics. Last weekend we could read in "Mercados" magazine (a supplement of "El Mundo", which is a right-centre trend...

    Can someone translate, please?

It's more frequent to say "¿te importa si te hago una foto?" and "¿se puede hacer fotos?" at least in Spain. It's also valid/ used "sacar (te importa si te saco una foto?)" . As Pelegrin says, the polite form is "¿le importa si le hago una foto?". I cannot imagine saying to an old person in...

    Aragones numbers in decline

Yesterday I went to the "Asociación" in Madrid to get my credencial. If nothing goes wrong on friday 15th I will be in Jaca and next day I will start the Camino Aragonés. The person I was talking with is also a fan of the Aragonés, and told me that few people choose this way. I am very...

    Favorite albergues in madrid?

I totally agree with peregrina2000. Anton Martin is not bohemian. It's shabby. And Madrid is full of pickpockets. You shouldn't be paranoid about that but, please, be very careful.

    Is a poncho really necessary?

I finally bought the new Altus Atmospheric poncho (the rain series one) in a shop in Madrid. But after reading some comments here about leaks and not being waterproof at all, I am considering taking rain pants as well (very light rain pants), and the Marmot Precip I have (which in any case will...
