What was the thing you were most happy to lose on the Camino?

I lost track of 'Wolfgang'...a character from Germany that made me blush like a schoolgirl every time he walked by or sat next to really was quite funny to witness 'chemistry' take over my senses. Alas, after a few days of conversations and good company, we were separated in Tricastilla...

Ass Pads - A Serious Topic!

I'm in the pointy-bone-no-arse club as well...the flight alone from the US to Madrid, then the excruciating train or bus ride just does me in! I'm liking the arse saving lightweight pad idea...I've a year to mull it over :)

I went for a walk in the "New" Cathedral today

I agree! I was surprised and a bit disappointed that those beautiful old pews with the shell were not restored. I'd buy one for my home if I knew one was available :)

Video/Pocast A walk through Santiago earlier today (Jan 12th 2021)

Thank You Ivar ! It is surreal to see Santiago without all of the pilgrims and bustling about, but what a lovely walk in the familiar ! So few people, but all respectful and keeping safe...the sunshine was an added touch of hope! Thank You, stay well

Video/Pocast A few words from me earlier today in Santiago

Thank you Ivar. In this misery, I remain grateful that prayers are limitless. As I pray for all those suffering in the US, I send prayers as well to Spain, and to all of the pilgrims and the countries they represent. Pray unceasingly. Stay well.

    Video/Pocast COVID Update from Santiago

Thank you so much for the encouraging update and quick view of the square ( solemn, but lovely and sorely missed ) We are stuck in a crisis of ignorance in the US. There will be no travel for me for awhile. Will keep you, Ivar and all of Spain in my prayers...Stay well

Recent thoughts on walking in September during Covid

What always weighs heavily in my decision making process, is not the facts surrounding my own behavior but the unknowns surrounding the behaviors of others. I liken it to my driving in the snowy New England (USA ) hard winters...I trust my driving skills, I trust the sturdiness of my car...but I...
