    Camino provides - also religiously

I think you will see many blessings along the way if you are open to them. I have found them in the people you will meet, things that are said to you, stories you hear, fleeting relationships that impact you---maybe walking together 10 minutes-- or days, the near missteps on an edge, the last...

Walking the Camino Frances with Rheumatoid Arthritis - Need Advice on Poles

When walking I do keep the straps over my hands loosely. I was told to do so in the event I fell, the poles wouldn’t be out of reach. The thing about the straps is to have them loose—and Pacer Poles’ straps are elastic— which is even better for safety. They are elastic and to be kept loose so...

Walking the Camino Frances with Rheumatoid Arthritis - Need Advice on Poles

I have over 3K miles with Pacer Poles on various Caminos. For those that ask my opinion about how to walk a Camino, they are a must-have if you are going to walk with poles. (I can't imagine walking the Camino without poles.) They have saved me from tumbles/twisted ankles on several occasions...

WARNING if you're leaving Sarria tomorrow (4th October 2023) ⚠️.

You can always taxi to Morgade or Barbadelo—-closer to the actual 100km start, and let them be behind you. Hoping they are not also creating a cloud of cig smoke for the rest to experience. Good on’em for doing it!! Glad I won’t be behind them😎🤐😂

Change of rules on checking in hiking poles at SCQ airport

I have carried PacerPoles on the plane clearing TSA from DFW, JFK, PDX, EUG, ATL, LGA, and SLC without any issues---this is representing 12 departures from the US--some of these airports I have departed from more than once with poles. I have returned with them on my backpack from MAD, ORY, CDG...

    CPAP on the camino

i travel with the resmed mini and the Zopec battery. this allows for several iterations of plug availability. Zopec battery is lightweight and has a US plug, a fast charging port and 2 USB ports. so, i only need one plug for everything--phone/battery backup pack i keep in my pack--size of cell...

i tried that, and hung insect repellent strips from my UV umbrella. i was still a target . quite the sight i know. i think it has likely been my sunscreen---and i've always walked sept/oct. i promise i bathe daily😂

    Those pesky flies

Yes, and the fun pastime of picking bugs out of my teeth as I walk, and hitting myself in the eye with my poles as I was swatting them.

    Those pesky flies

Heading out again to walk next week, I remembered the flies. It could be the various face sunscreens I used, but I seemed to attract flies/insects buzzing my face while I walked. In 2021--while still some COVID restrictions were in place and I had masks with me, I found a great Camino hack. I...

    Sunglasses help needed

Maui Jims are my favorites---Costco usually carries them. I was told that cheap sunglasses are actually more harmful than no sunglasses. I do like bigger ones, and a bit of side protection is helpful on the windy parts.

Resmed equip need on CF (Resolved)

I do have a caution---don't order if from the US and have it sent. With two attempts from the US, I never got a small massage gun that didn't arrive before I left---I deal with foot issues. Spain apparently inspects all packages and they wouldn't let it through since it was a medical device. it...

    Post-Camino Day? Burgos / Zaragoza / Madrid?

Avila is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever seen. Easy train to Madrid after. I stayed in the old town part at a nice--newer hotel that included breakfast and it was super reasonable.
