Lone Peak 6 Review (Aug 2022)
A very comfortable shoe for gentle trails and lite duty. I took this shoe on our first stage of the Camino. The stage we completed was between St. Jean de Porte, France and Los Arcos Spain 80+ miles. Generally this section of the Camino in my opinion didn’t require...
I’m in Logrono and wanted to get a wooden hiking stick before I go home are there any suggestions as to where I could get one?
Something special.
Thanks in advance
Richard
We did it in two days from SJPP. Walking along the road for a couple of stretches was treacherous. I mean treacherous. In my humble opinion and where I to do it again I would take a day glow bandanna or something. Some bright non-natural color to attach to my walking stick and pack to wave at...
Check out walkthecamino.com they are fantastic. We have worked with the twice in the past. Let them know what you want and Caroline will make it happen.
I'm taking my family ages 16, 16, 14 & 14 (crazy dad) on the Camino Summer 2020 starting in mid June. Is 40 days enough to get to Santiago starting in SJPP without walking them into the ground?
I'm looking to create an opportunity for them to have a life changing grit building experience.
We are planning to complete the French Way starting in St Jean. Is it ok to mix walking and biking assuming you start that far off? I intend we'll walk most of it especially the last 100k, but figured biking would be a way of mixing it up a bit.
Susan,
My wife and I took the train to Sarria and started walking the next day. When se arrived in Santiago we flew back to Madrid. I didn't want to fly into Santiago and take a bus to Sarria, I wanted to see it fresh. I would say the 1pm train to Lugo from Madrid.
Buen Camino

Walking Mad,
We also used a luggage service. Which was good and bad, good because everything was just taken care of, bad because it allowed us to pack too much stuff.
As for what to put in your daypack. I started with the 10 essential systems
Navigation. I had the guidebook and a watch...
Ted,
Great question. My wife and I just finished our 1st 100K Camino starting in Sarria. We went with Walk the Camino and they were GREAT!!! Now that we've done one, I would feel comfortable making my own arrangements. My wife (~40s) was not going to stay in Albergues, there's nothing wrong...
I only used under armor long fitted boxers they were PERFECT!!! but any mid to lower thigh length, fitted, non-cotton boxer brief would have been sufficient.
Buen Camino
