I was thinking I might make the minimum payment on my credit card on-line, but then had second thoughts. How secure would a public computer be in Spain, or anywhere else for that matter?

coming from St Jean Pied de Port towards Roncesvalles, at the start of the Camino, part of the path wends through an old forest.
Towards the end of the Camino in Galicia there are lots of eucalyptus trees.
I've walked about half of the way and I'd say it's not a particularly well-wooded...

if you couldn't find accommodation in Santiago you could return to the refuge at Monte del Gozo and make that your base.
I didn't stay there myself but my guide book states that the first night there is free. The guide mentions 2000 places. I can't imagine it's ever full.
