Hi peregrina2000 & thanks for the rapid & very helpful response. Soon after I commenced planning this adventure I realized that the selection of a route was going to be problematic. Here are my initial thoughts:
1. Although I really enjoyed the VdlP & repeating that journey (I walked it in 2018)...
Since 2016 I've walked a number of the major Camino routes - Frances x 2, Via de la Plata, Portuguese (inland & coastal). Norte, Primitivo. My favourite is undoubtedly the VdlP because of its wide-open spaces, big sky (I'm Australian!) & the feeling of achievement & empowerment I gained...
We're arriving at Biarritz Airport at the end of April 2023. We intend to walk out of the airport to the French town of Bidart on the coast. From Bidart we'll walk the Voie Littorale to Irun to commence the Camino Del Norte.
My question is: How can we get our post-Camino suitcase to Santiago...
We left SJPdP on 7 April. It was busy to Burgos, mainly with Spaniards walking in their Easter break. Since the week after Easter no problems. Plenty of accommodation & currently no need to book ahead.
We’re currently in Villafranca Montes de Oca & will arrive by bus into Burgos on Wednesday with a rest day on Thursday.
My companion has developed painful ‘shin splints’ in her right calf. She is taking the usual meds & for the last 2 days has used the backpack transport service.
My question is...
Hi,
We left SJPdP on 7 April & spent the night at Borda (pre-booked). Next 2 nights at Espinal & Larrasoana, no bookings. Did not have difficulty securing a bed in either location. Plenty of accommodation options open along the way.
Masks are being worn when you go to the bar to order & inside...
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. As always my knowledge (maybe even wisdom!) has increased via the interaction with forum members.
The background for my original question was that I'm staying the night of 7th April at Auberge Borda. The auberge accepts guests from 2:30pm...
Arriving at Biarritz Airport at 13:35 on April 6 2022.
Have arranged direct transportation (Duration 1.5 hrs) to St Jean with Express Bourricot departing at 14:00.
Tp date three of the available eight seats are filled. The price will depend on the final number of passengers.
To book a seat go...
Hi Anniesantiago,
I haven't done it that way but I can see the merits. I travel well on planes so jet lag has never been a major issue. Also my first 2 days are pretty easy. I've spent time in Pamplona so I may not overnight there this time but if I do I'm hoping (fingers crossed!) that the...
Hi Greg,
I used this method on my first Camino in 2017. Back then I had to do a bus transfer from CDG to Orly for the flight to Biarritz. This was convenient & economical but somewhat stressful as the traffic can be horrendous so you need to factor this in when catching the connection. This time...
