It depends on how much you can cover in a day...I completed 7 walking days a couple weeks ago in 2 stages. I walked from SJPP to Pamplona in 3 days. Then, I went to Sarria to walk to Santiago for 4 days. I started from SJPP because I read about the nice views walking to Roncesvalles. Weather can...
Some pilgrims will leave their phones charging at night. I just brought a basic phone and kept it with my passport, etc. inside my waist pouch - I would wear it while sleeping so can I feel the vibrating alarm to wake me up in the AM.......didn't even bother me.. A couple of albergues had lockers.
I just came back from walking the Camino last week.....you will pick up Spanish words along the way and cafes/restaurants understand English....no need for an app....I left my smartphone so I will not get distracted....instead, I just brought a basic phone (got a sim card) for emergency purposes.
Any idea if this train is still running in Aug 2014 as Renfe website is not showing any trains from Pamplona to Sarria after 14th June. I have read that they usually post the new schedule 62 days ahead of time and it is now less than 62 days to June 15.
